- To become knowledgeable about Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
- To become aware of the evolution of the English language.
- To become knowledgeable about West Side Story, the film.
- To be able to use the analysis of Shakespeare's play to adapt a scene for another time period and write a script.
- To become knowledgeable about an important period in American or British history.
- To be able to present personal work to an audience.
- To be able to perform a theatrical reading of a script and respect the pronunciation, the word stress and the intonation of the lines.
- To be able to use Mp3 software to create a sophisticated audio document.
